This policy explains what information ProblemPick uses when you ask for product recommendations.

Information we process
We process the problem you enter, your clarification answers, selected language and shopping market to generate recommendations. Please do not submit names, contact details, financial information, medical information or other sensitive personal data.
How the service works
Problem descriptions and answers are sent securely to our AI service provider, OpenAI, to generate questions and recommendations. You may use a limited number of searches without an account or create an account managed by Clerk. ProblemPick does not build advertising profiles from your questions.
Accounts and activity
For registered accounts, Clerk manages authentication and provides ProblemPick with an account identifier, email address, registration date and recent sign-in activity. ProblemPick stores submitted questions, selected answers, shopping market, generated product recommendation types, request outcomes and limited technical usage totals such as AI calls and token counts so the owner can operate, protect and improve the service.
Optional email newsletter
Registered members may separately choose to receive the ProblemPick newsletter. With your consent, your account email, language and shopping country are sent to Mailchimp to manage subscription confirmation, delivery and unsubscribing. Creating a ProblemPick account does not automatically subscribe you. You can withdraw consent through the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.
Device preferences
Your selected language and Amazon market may be saved in your browser using local storage. You can remove these preferences by clearing this site's browser data.
Anonymous live visitor count
To show the owner how many visitors are currently using ProblemPick, each active visitor browser sends a short anonymous heartbeat with a random identifier. It is not linked to an email address, IP address or page history, and the server record is automatically deleted after a short period of inactivity.
Optional Google Analytics
With your permission, ProblemPick uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page views and limited actions: problem_started, questions_completed, results_viewed and amazon_outbound_click. Google may receive the page URL, device and browser information, approximate location, language, market and item counts, but never the problem text or clarification answers. Advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled. Analytics is disabled until you choose Allow analytics. You can change your choice at any time using the Privacy choices button. Amazon links
When you follow an Amazon link, Amazon receives information according to its own privacy and cookie policies. ProblemPick does not control Amazon's processing.
Retention and security
Questions and detailed search activity are retained for up to 90 days for service operation, analytics, abuse prevention and improvement. After that, question text is removed; limited technical usage totals may be retained for up to 12 months for cost and abuse monitoring. Access is restricted to the ProblemPick owner. Technical service providers may process limited logs for security and operation. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Avoid entering personal or sensitive information. You may clear local preferences in your browser, stop using the service, or contact us to request deletion of account-linked information.
